I cannot understand y boys find fantasy books more apealing i personaly cannot find the point of them. esspecially the 1 im reading now called the gathering it is based on a serious life of a person and then mystical shit starts happening and i loose all intrest in the stroy. but some people may like the fact that goblins can b real in their minds and they can let their imagination go while reading just not me. My favourite genre would have to be one with real stuff like sports sex and stuff that entertains teenaged boys.

I think that poetry has passed the test of time because it is such an easy thing to pick up and once you have used it once u know how to use it in every type of context. kids are introduced to poetry at such a young age, they listen to it in childeres book such as 'green eggs and ham' by Dr Zoose this is rhyme an element of poerty for example this is a little bit i can remember out of the book ' no sam i am, i do not like green eggs and ham'. this is one reason why poetry has passed the test of time.

As i mentioned before rhythem and rhyme and two forms of very popular poetry used commonly today. in televison and radio add's poetry is used to capture the audiences attention. another is in modern day music there are hidden poems in the lyrics.

Poetry plays a small but noticeable role in everyday life it make evrything a little less boring and brightens up some peoples day. these people enjoy poetry because it is usually peacefull and relaxing. it makes everything else seem a little bit irrelivent when they hear a poem that makes them really think about what every the poem is about.

I must admit that im not a huge fan of real meaningful poetry i enjoy reading and writting silly and rude poems. they just seem alot more entertaining to me.

A poem that i can remember is the decore shampoo add that was on a few years ago. it had a couple singing a song which was poety in the shower about this shampoo. i remember it partly because i enjoys listening to it but mainly because one of my friends was trying to annoy me and sung it for about 3 hours straight. haha but yes thats it for now till nxt time

This is obeyesly some english fanatic who is just like my art teacher who thinks that art is the bases of the world and this is how this guy is thinking. he recons that the world will come to a stop if we dont have poetry and proper english. sure i agree but only to a slight dergee. poetry helps this world be a better place but the world could deffinatly be better or even just the same with out poerty.

For my homework i got the nicoret jingle 'nicoret nicoret u dont need the ciggoret' and also bobs barn add on riverland tv. it is to long to write but once u hear it you cant get it out of ur head. as i said they both just stick in ur head and u cant 4get them. this is the purpose of the add being a poem not a prose. so attract the buyers attention and keep it.

So yea till nxt time

How did the clip make you feel? Why?
Were there any facts that you found particularly interesting?
Was there any information that you don't think is corect?
Was there anything stated that you disagree with? Why?
What does it make you think about with regard to your own life?

This clip made me feel very bored untill the bit about myspace came into it. this just shows that how we are only interested and will only pay attention to things that have meaning or we are going to use inour lives. so if you teach us about a power point noone will listen but when myspace is talked about kids ears open up. so the bit about myspace and youtube were the best facts. i have no idea about the facts and figures shown because i have never read or studies them b4, this is why i dont this any of this information is in correct and why i dont disagree with any of it. and i didnt compare this clip to my life for two reaons one because i enjoy my life and cant c any reasons to compare it to any1 or anything else and the second reason because i am scared of the results ahahaha

Umm yea its a realy interesting story this, how he admitted to having used the drug for 10 years when he was only caught with it on one occasion. elite sports men just shouldnt run the rist of using drugs like this because of their health and also it creats major controversity in the gambeling comuntiy. and yes i do think elite sportmen should be tested to stop any thing from getting started and keeping the sporting fields fair as possible. any athletes caught on drugs should be immideatly remove from the level they are playing at and not b allowed back in untill they are proven to be (sober is the only word i can think of) sober for over the course of 2 yrs and yes miss clune we will be nice to this teacher hahaha

Ive decided to write about the Murray River today. I love being up the river at my grandparents house. We have family friends who all own Matrix's and Malibu's which are very nice and expencive skiiing boats. they have all the best gear and they know how to use them as well. so this makes my experience of the murray river a very enjoyable one. but i guess i gotta mention the whole water level drop thing. Australians are being selfish barsteds and using tomuch water on pointless things like gardens and showering. well till next time Turdz cheers

during the holidays i read a book named Tomorrow when the war began. Its a book about a country town that is on the highway between a major city and everywhere. a group of kids go camping and come back into town to find soldiers looting all the shops and keeping their familys in captivity. the book follows the teenages throught their struggle to stay alive and not to end up in a body bag.

The book would be a major seller, it would appeal to young teens all the way through to adults. The younger audience would enjoy this book because of the high level of violence and all the guns and things of this nature. Then the older reader would enjoy it because of the action but there is also a bit of romance in it. It has a very easy story line to follow which makes it an easy read.

This book would sell increadibly well because of the authors already well known name from his preveous books 'While I Live' and 'Incurable' which are very high selling book as you know. I have already contacted John Marsden and he has given me an outline of some of the follow up books he has in mind (he is bloody determined with this book) and i know why he is its probably going to be one of the best books that come out of this publishing company if we go ahead with this book. so have a read i have attached the manuskrips to this email so have a read please you won't put it down Thank you Turdz

This year for peak adventure i am partnering up with Jack Ramsey. We will be going to Victoria to go white water rafting.
Jack and i made a joint choice to go white water rafting because it sounded most appealing to our likings of fun.
The most chalenging thing about white water rafting will be to keep going because of the extreme coldness of the water.
I thought it would be the frezing cold night that i would have the most trouble with, but now a rumour is going around that we will be sleeping in cabins because of the rain. So my next biggest worry after that is sleep. I like to sleep alot and generaly on camps when there are alot of people in a cabin no one shuts up untill late, but considering we will all be cold and tired hopefully this will not be a problem.
The best part will be having the experience of white water rafting, i would probably never got a chance to do this if this camp wasnt avalable.
I think that this camp will seperate the men from the boys because some pac boys may be used to being tucked in every night and their mum will not be there for them. this is were some boys may find the challenge difficult.
Cool till next time . . . . . Turdz

Q: Have you read any poetry of Shakespeare's?

A: I probably have read some poetry of shakespeare but im not sure, because he is such a well known poet and what not his work is every were. i can't remember if i have read any or not.

Q: Have you seen any Shakespearean plays?

A: No i havent seen any plays to this day

Q: Have you read any play of Shakewpeare's?

A: No i also havent read any plays of shakespeare

Q: Have you seen any modern versions of Shakespeare's work, such as the movie 'Ten things I hate about you'?

A: Yes we had to watch 'Ten things i hate about you in yr 9 English. I had also seen it before Yr 9 but i had never picked up the amount of similaritys to shakespeares play as Mrs Longo pointed out over the course of the movie.

Q: What do you know about Shakespeare's work?

A: All i know about his work is that today it is world famous and known as some of the best written text. it is so good that it is stored in musiums and other places of high regard.

Q: Mr S is putting on Macbeth next term. Would you be interested in being a part of this play?

Q: Why do you think the author has started this blog?

A: I think he has started his blog for feed back on his books and also for inspuration and ideas for more book he could potentioaly write.

Q: There is a slogan at the top of the blog that says "readers are the leaders others follow"; what do you think this means?

A: This is just telling a simple message that people who read do have an advantage over those who don't. their imagination is more active (according to me)

Q: Who do you think would be interested in reading this blog?

A: I think anyone who is the kind of person who has a user name for this site would be interested in this particular blog. it has a strong case about how books these days are written for girls which is a major topic of discussion for some people.

Q: Which entry did you read?

A: I read 'The Dangerous Book for Boys '

Q: What was it about?

A: this entry is putting forward the idea of how the books today are written to more intrest girl more than boy. he went to different schools asking all the kids who enjoys reading and the majority were (not suprisingly) Boys

Q: Was there a fact/opinion/piece of information that you found particularly interesting? Why?

A: I did find This blog interesting because in always thought that books were never very interesting untill i found one good book and it was more written for a male audience so i started to enjoy reading ( to a Point) as long as the book was aimed at males audiences

Q: Did you feel inclined to post a comment? Why?

A: Yes i felt i wanted to leave a commment because i have never heard anyone have that oppinion (the same as mine) so i just told him that how i felt also.

Thats my entry so till l8a cheers Turdz

To be honest I havent read enough lately to have a set stratigie. i hav only read 4 books this term and two of them i didnt get to choose two of them. the first one i read was The messenger and i chose this because i started it in year nine but i never got into it enought to finish it. i started it again and engoyed it, so that is how i chose my first book. The second book i chose was recomended to me by Steven Mitchel. He told me that it was interesting because it had sport, smoking, drinking and sexual encounters. I have to say this was a very good book untill the very last second, when the book finished as if it had only reached half way. I think by the two books i have read i enjoy reading about kids my age and a little older who drink and have sex and stuff like that. it is something that is half entertaining unlike mysteries and goblins and whitchs so yea thats what i look for in my books

Heey every1 the last book i have just read was 'The Messenger' written my Marcus Zusak. i have to say it is the first book in my life that i have evry really been interested in and wanted to get all my work out of the way so i can start readinf again. but about the book it is about a guys named Ed Kennedy. Ed it a ninteen year old taxi driver who is a little selfobsessed. he dose have eyes for a girl he grew up with named Audrie Harris. but the main idea of the story are the playing cards Ed gets in the mail. They have different things written on them, some have addreses and some have names. He has to work out who they are and has to do something for that person. it can't just be give them 20 bucks and be done it has to be something they really need, so Ed has to study this person untill he can find out what that person really needs in life.

The author has made Ed the youngest in his family (who is also the low achiever of the family). His brother and sister are at uni studying medicine and other high paying classy occupations. Their mother thinks Ed is a low achiver just like his father was and this is why she dosent show as much love to him as she dose her other kids. This has alot of meaning as the book goes on.

If Ed was not an Ed and was an Edwine (a girl) the story would have not changed much at all. Only Audrie (the girl Ed has his eyes on) would change. but that would be about it. The only other thing would be the amount sex comes into the text. this may not be such an issue if he was a she.

I have just read two short books the first one was 'The Island' which was pretty good exept the ending. it was about a small group of friends and one little brother who are home alone and decide to take the tiny out for a paddle (because the live on the coast). the little brother had wanted to go out to an island a few km of shore so they set out for the Island. the hav 2 much trouble getting out there so the turn back for the shore but the keep going out. they get beached on the island after the capsize the tiny and hitting the rocks. after they recover they all find eachother exept one person who had decided to swim back so they all went aswell and that when the book ended and i didnt like this because it didnt say if they got home or if the found their friend or not the second book i read was called 'Drean on Bali Rai' which was a much better book. it was about an Indian boy who loved his soccer but whos dad wanted him top get a good education and work at their fish n chips shop. he had to sneak out of his house and lie to his parents so he could play a trial game. he was so good that he was invited to play for the juniour side of his favourite leage team. his parents find out and help him with his dream. the first book was not so good but the second "Dream on Bali Rai' was much better cheers untill next time Turdz
